Luffy vs Don Qinjao!

One Piece Manga chapter 716 review

Rating: 3.5/5

So another chapter of One Piece was out today and to be honest it wasn't the greatest. There were a few good things but overall I didn't enjoy it as much as I did when we were at the Green Bit. Having said that, I doubt we will get a chapter like that in a while.

Anyway, the chapter starts off with the Brother's fighting and something happened to them which is revealed later in the chapter. It makes sense to be honest but for me fodder means nothing. In this Block, all I care about is Luffy and Don Qinjao. No one else. I think it would've been better if Oda showed only the fight between Luffy and Don Qinjao and skipped everything else because fodder doesn't interest me and it just wastes panels that could be used for better things such as Luffy fighting.

We find out the one of the brothers has a Devil Fruit; the Jake Jake fruit (Jacket Jacket fruit). This lets him control anyone who wears him. The other brother wore him and now they are 2 in one basically. They're strong but we see the current leader of the Happou Navy defeats the brothers in one kick.

Now, we see Luffy and Don Qinjao talking. Don gives us a few hints of why he hates Garp and why he wants to take revenge. He says that Garp stole his power and his memories of youth but the main thing that makes me wonder is the huge fortune that Don mentions. The obvious answer would be that Garp stole his money or stole someone he caught who had a big bounty since he was the leader of another Navy. I think what happened was that Don caught Shiki and asked for the bounty from the Navy but Garp refused and they fought. I know the Navy can't refuse to give the reward for catching them but it could be that the Happou Navy and the Navy had past problems or it could be that Garp had a problem with Don himself. I say he caught Shiki because we know that Shiki has been in Impel Down and he was the first one to escape it. Obviously, Shiki must've had a big bounty on his head since he was a famous pirate that tried to kill Roger.

Jean the robber has Luffy's helmet as we know from the last chapter and we see the typical Luffy. As Jean the robber throws the weapons towards Luffy, Luffy uses Observation Haki to avoid all that but unfortunately for Jean all the weapons hit Don Qinjao and that made him very angry. We see Don Qinjao defeat him in a single strike.

Then we see Sai and the boxer, Ideo, fighting and it's a very close fight but then Don Qinjao and Luffy fight it out but on the way they knock both Sai and Ideo out of the ring and we finally get the fight that matters in this block. Luffy vs Don Qinjao.

They both attack with Haki infested fist and then they both use Conqueror's Haki. This was the epic moment that made the chapter for me. Luffy and Don Qinjao defeat everyone in a flash. They are the only 2 left now and the next chapter will end this block. Finally!

I gave this chapter 3.5/5 because this was mainly fodder fighting fodder. At the end we see Luffy fighting and that's the only reason this chapter got as much as 3.5. if it weren't for him then this would've been 2 or 2.5. Hopefully, next chapter we also get to see what's happening at Green Bit.

Climax in Block C!

One Piece manga chapter 715

Rating 3/5

So this chapter shows us the fights in Block C. To be honest, I didn't think it was a great chapter. It was good but I didn't find it entertaining enough for many different reasons.

Basically, the chapter starts off with the Giant on the floor knocked out and this boxer punches him out. It's weird because his punch was like an explosion and that's what sent the Giant flying. He doesn't seem to have a Devil Fruit either since he said that with the Mera-Mera fruit he will get stronger so he is obviously thinking of eating it. Then we see Qinjao using Conqueror's Haki which was quite epic. You can tell he is serious about this fight by the way he is fighting.

Basically we see many people in this fight but it isn't worth watching it. There were many awesome people in the fight but we don't know anything about them so it doesn't interest me. Plus we don't see luffy fighting either and that was a bad point as well. We also don't go to the Green Bit so we don't know what's going on there. I just hope Oda doesn't skip the fight. Like I hope we don't see Fujitora or Doflamingo just dragging Law's body. Even is it would look cool I would be upset that we missed out on such an epic fight.

I give this chapter a 3/5 because at the end of the day this was a set up chapter. The next chapter will show Luffy fighting and winning it. I just want this to end so we can go back to the  Green Bit and to the factory that Sanji and Franky are going to. Also, I want to see Zoro fighting Jola because that is what it's setting up to. We didn't see Bellamy in this and I want to know his decision. Even if he tries to kill Luffy I don't think he will be able to since Luffy is much stronger.

Kill Luffy!

One Piece Manga chapter 714 Review

Rating: 4/5

This chapter starts off with Thousand Sunny being captured and Nami and the others have been turned into a sketchy form. Everyone, apart form Brook, have a line down their face after an obvious confrontation with Jola from the Donquixote family. We don't know exactly what her powers are but from a guess I would say her powers involve her idea of beauty and she can form the person into that. It's obviously a Devil Fruit power but I can not think which on it could be. I think her true powers would be that anything she can imagine can come to fruition. To be honest, I think if that is true then it could be a fearsome Devil Fruit. Hopefully, we will get more of an insight as to what her fruit actually does. Either way, we see her change the appearances of the Sunny, Nami, Brook, Chopper and Momonosuke.

It's interesting how Doflamingo asked to get Momonosuke only. I think this is a part of an experiment that Doflamingo is doing. I think he will extract the powers from Momonosuke. As we know, he is from the Wano country where they get different powers with their swords. So, I was thinking that at this moment Momonosuke has 2 different powers; the Devil Fruit and the power he gets from his swords. I think that the warriors from the Wano kingdom have powers dormant within them from the moment they're born but with training they get to activate it and that's why Doflamingo is after Momonosuke. He plans to get the powers before it is activated because it could be that once it's in use he can't take it from them. Or it could be that he just wants the Devil Fruit back.

Then we are brought back to the Colosseum where we see a Gladiator being asked to get treated but he refuses. We see Rebecca enter and she tells the guy to be treated but he refuses again. As he walks away we get a panel where he apologises to Rebecca and a shady flashback to when a kid was running towards him for a hug. I think this gladiator is Rebecca's father and the gladiator's statue we saw before the tournament began.

After that we see Bellamy being treated while he reads a letter that Doflamingo wrote. In that letter he tells Bellamy to kill Luffy and if he does that he will be cleared of everything and he will be a leader of the family. That is quite an incentive for a person who looks up to Doflamingo but I don't see Bellamy killing Luffy. This is getting interesting as there are lots of people who want to finish off Luffy. Add Bartolomeo to the list as well! Yes, he as expressed his desires to kill Luffy and apparently his roots with Luffy go deeper than Cavendish's. Now things are starting to get clearer about why Doflamingo offered a prize as big as the Mera Mera fruit: 1) Luffy was sure to be attracted  and 2) Many other people would be attracted who are enemies of Luffy. Or he purposefully invited the enemies of Luffy. To be honest, from this I can see that Doflamingo sees Luffy as a big threat, that's why he got Luffy out of the way.

Then we are taken to Block C. It is coming to the end and I can see that Luffy is dominating it. But there is a giant who is fighting in it and he is literally crushing everyone. Luffy is riding a bull, an infamous bull. It is called the angel of death and it has already sent 21 people to hell but Luffy is riding the beast. Anyway, as it sends people flying it attacks the giant from Elbaf. The giant, Harujudin, punches both Luffy and the Bull. From what I can see the Bull is dead but Luffy survives and checks the bull to see if he is OK or not.

Luffy gets angry and we all know what happens then! He used Gear Second and went up to Harujudin's face and knocked him out. The giant fell and it was epic. We have already seen Luffy defeat a giant in the war and that was pre-time skip. Post time skip, he beats him with one punch and doesn't even have to go in Gear Third.

I gave this chapter a rating of 4/5 because it was an interesting chapter and we get some clues on some stuff. And of course we get to see Luffy's epicness.

Law vs Doflamingo and Fujitora!

One Piece Manga Chapter 713 Review

Rating: 4.5/5

This chapter starts off with a battle between Law, Doflamingo and Fujitora. It was an awesome battle and it showed powers of both Doflamingo and Fujitora. They give us a hint as well for the second Admiral who joined as Doflamingo says "I've heard you and "Green Bull" are true beasts in terms of power". This hints that Green Bull is also appointed as the new Admiral as we need to replace Aokiji and Akainu.

Now, after this conversation between Doflamingo and Fujitora, we see the new Admiral talking to Law and asking what his relation to the Strawhats is; is it an alliance or are they his subordinates? It's interesting how Law answers that it is an alliance even though Fujitora said that if they are his subordinates then he would take no action. Law answered that its an alliance but I don't see the point in doing that as now he has both Doflamingo and Fujitora fighting him. His thinking was that he would buy some time so I think he said that so that he would face off with both of them and give the others more time to find the factory and destroy it. But there is a reverse side as well since after this fight, which I can see Law losing, Fujitora will hunt down the Strawhats.

Then the fight starts! What an amazing fight it is! We see Fujitora's powers as he brings down a meteorite. Yes, a frigging meteorite!I think the new Admiral has eaten the Galaxy Galaxy fruit or Meteor Meteor fruit or he could be a swordsman from the Wano conutry as they seem to have awesome powers as well. But we see Doflamingo cut it in many pieces using his powers. We get an little insight on that as well as Doflamingo cuts the meteorite with his invisible strings. This would show how he also cut Junior Oz's leg in the war. After that, the scene of them standing on their footholds only was epic. It showed how each of them is strong enough to hold their own, even when there's a massive meteor coming down on them.

Maybe I'm over-thinking this but Doflamingo called Fujitora a stray mutt. That is quite insulting but Fujitora doesn't react. So I was thinking that he didn't say anything because Doflamingo holds a higher status than just a Shichibukai.

Then we see Franky and how he has probably found the factory. He is talking to Sanji and Sanji is with Violet.  They see a video of Luffy fighting in the Colosseum. Violet gives Sanji a map of the factory and she gives him a description of the factory and how it looks like a toy house. I think this is the last we see of Violet. I don't see her meeting up with the rest of the Strawhats on the rendezvous point. Even though I don't want it to happen since I like the character of Violet but I think she won't make it to the rendezvous point. She will either die or be captured an bloodied and I can see Sanji being extremely depressed for a few months. It would be awesome if Zoro tries to cheer him up.

We see Kinemon being chased by some people. He says that his friend is in the "toy house" and that he needs Sanji's help to get in. I think we all know that it is the factory as we saw Violet give a little description before.

Then we see a classic Ussop. He lied about the vibrations they felt from the fighting outside. He said it was his Haki and he has also said that he used it on Fishman Island to defeat 50000 people. That was quite funny and I liked it as it gave a comical side to the chapter. Then we see how Usopp lied to the dwarves. He said he is a descendant of Norland; coincidentally the dwarves see Norland as their hero as he helped the dwarves win a battle 400 years ago.

We also see the plans made by the dwarves to defeat Doflamingo and ask Usopp to command their ranks. They are also going to the "toy house". I think this is going to end very badly.

Finally, I give this chapter 4.5/5 because it was really good and we finally see some fighting. I think this arc is moving on to its final stages and I cant wait to see how it ends. Also, I think Oda needs to finish the blocks in the Colosseum because it's getting boring now.

Law trapped!

One Piece manga chapter 712 review

Rating: 4/5

So we finally get a chapter where we can safely say One Piece is moving swiftly.

This chapter starts with Sanji and how he is trapped by Violet, from the Doflamingo family. Sanji is beaten up by her. As we all know Sanji doesn't hit women so he was badly beaten up and bleeding. To be honest, if he did hit women, this wouldn't be so hard for him but obviously his chivalry won over again, as it did in the Enies Lobby arc.

Then we get a little insight on what Violet can do. She is the user of the Giro-Giro fruit which allows her to see what someone is thinking. All of it is in plain sight for her. She is seen using it on Sanji to know what the Strawhats are planning but it fails as Sanji is only thinking of her. As Violet's servants go to kill Sanji, Violet turns on them and then tells Sanji to run away but she shows him what happened in the morning.

It shows CP0 involved in this. CP0 are directly under the rule of the World Nobles. Now, why are they involved over something that involves a Schichibukai and the Marines? Obviously, Doflamingo had a little talk with the World Goverment and I think they both made a deal. So that's why CP0 is involved.

The whole world is fooled by the events of Doflamingo resigning from being the King of Dressrosa and a Schichibukai; even the marines were fooled by this as we see Admiral Fujitora talking on the den den mushi and how they were fooled. He mentions how he has to bring the Gourousei in to this. Now, why would he do that? The Gourousei are five old men who essentially rule the world. They made the pact about with the Schichibukai and rule over the Marines and Cipher Pol. I am sure they are the ones doing this.

However, in the end we see Law talking to Doflamingo. The Marines are present as well. Law talks about how Doflamingo fooled the entire world and how only the Celestial Dragons have that sort of power. I think that is a hint of Doflamingo's past and present. If only the Celestial Dragons are that powerful then how did he do it?

Then we see Vergo telling Law how dangerous Doflamingo is just because he doesn't know his past. This shows that Vergo knows about his past. If I were to guess I would say that Doflamingo is a Celestial Dragon and he wanted to be a pirate so he gathered few servants as a Celestial Dragon and made them his crew. One of these has to be Vergo as he seems to know about his past. I think you would be considered a Celestial Dragon all your life no matter what you do so Doflamigo still has those powers or I think that he is the son of one of them. Also, when he killed Moria after the war, there was a little conversation between Moria and Doflamingo. In that Moria asked if Sengoku asked him to do this. Doflamingo replied "No, someone higher up than him". I don't see why someone so high up would specially order Doflamingo when they have the entire Navy to their disposal. Makes you wonder, right?

There is one possibility that keeps bugging me and that is that Doflamingo was a slave when he was young and then one of the Celestial Dragons bought him and became close to him but at the same time I fail to see the Celestial Dragons showing these sort of emotions. I mean someone who refuses to breathe the same oxygen as other people use can't be seen showing human-like emotions.

We also see block C starting in the colosseum. I don't think it will be easy for Luffy, to be honest but we shall see. We know that there is the old guy who wants to kill Luffy as he is Garp's grandson. We also have his grandsons and I'm sure there are plenty more strong ones in that block.

Zoro is going towards the ship as he heard they are going to attack it. Sanji is probably going to the Green Bit to help Law but I think the Dwarves will help Law on Usopp's request. However, I think Doflamingo already knows they are there with his Observation Haki.

I also think someone will get badly injured and that will make Luffy really mad and he will go after Doflamingo. I think Law will get badly injured and Luffy considers him his nakama already so it will make Luffy really angry.

Finally, I've given it 4/5 because I think this chapter has made One Piece progress quiet a lot(finally!) and there are some mysteries that need to be solved; CP0's involvement, Doflamigo's past and how did Doflamingo manage to do that.
